On-line Class Recommendation: For Writers – Margie Lawson

On-line Class Title:  “Empowering Characters’ Emotions”

Writing Instructor:  Margie Lawson

Why:  “Empowering Characters’ Emotions” is the most comprehensive class available on this subject. Recommended for both experienced and new writers.

  1. Margie Lawson does have some good classes. Also, Margie sells her lecture packets, which is a little cheaper if you know you’re not going to have time to participate in the class.

    • Hi Catie,
I agree about her lecture packets! I’ve taken all of Margie’s on-line classes to date and attended her immersion #1 (can’t wait to take IMC-2). They were all wonderful. Plus, she has new classes coming soon–the schedule’s on her website.
      Cheers, Ashley

  2. I took that class about a month or so ago and it was great. Thumbs up!

    • Hi Patti,
Thank you very much. Margie’s “deep editing” classes are great, too.
      Cheers, Ashley

  3. Oh wow! I just bought the lecture packets for this class. It looks fabulous! I know Margie is a great teacher. I don’t have the time right now to invest in an actual class. So much going on. But I can’t wait to dig into these lectures!

    • Hi Debora, I think you will find them to be as valuable as I did. The best classes she offers are her retreats–well worth the price and time investment. Cheers, Ashley

  4. I took Margie’s class years ago online – one of the best I’ve ever taken! Our chapter hosted her for an in-person workshop the following year based on my recommendation, and those who went loved it.

    • Hi Jennette, You’re so right. Everyone always praises her classes. I’ve never heard anyone complain. And I’m a convert to her highlighter pens EDITS system. It felt silly at first, but I couldn’t argue with the results. Margie’s system works. Cheers, Ashley

  5. Margie’s classes are awesome! And she’s a really nice person as well. I highly recommend her classes.

    • Hi Rhonda, Thank you so much for e-visiting. Cheers, Ashley

  6. I never took a class, but I can recommend her books!

I’m fairly new to on-line classes, but have to say, the interaction with other students in the “classroom” is the best part! Writing can be such a solitary profession.

And a shoutout to my fellow WANA-minions! You know who you are! 🙂

    • Hi Jayne, Thank you for the shoutout. I’m a WANA minionette, too. Cheers, Ashley 🙂

  7. I doing this course, but by the packet – got it two days ago, already read lecture 6. Fantastic, stuff, looking forward to highlighting my wip away. I think it will really add some depth to my work

    • So glad her course is working well for you, Cassandra. Cheers, Ashley
