  1. I’ve always wanted to check that out. Will add to the Netflix queue!

    • Hi Melissa, Hope you love this movie as much as I do. Cheers, Ashley

  2. I love that movie! Yes, I own it.
I think I had a crush on the captain as a child.
    Thanks for the recommendation.

    • Hi Sandy, You’re very welcome. And yes, I had a crush on the captain, too. For me, it was in high school, along with dozens of other crushes on romance heros. Cheers, Ashley

  3. That one’s a classic – and I haven’t seen it! Need to add that one to the movie list… now just have to find time to watch some!

    • Hi Jennette, Hope you love the movie. Cheers, Ashley

  4. I LOVE The Ghost and Mrs. Muir! I’ve thought several times about writing a book based off that idea. So romantic.

    • Hi Alica, If you have a book idea that’s appeared “several times”, trust your instincts and explore it. Cheers, Ashley

  5. I absolutely LOVE that movie!! Who doesn’t love a romantic, tragic love story? And it involves a ghost. Add unrequited love to that list. I remember the first time I watched this movie. I must have been around 9 or so and even then the romantic fool in me wanted them to be together.

Ghost stories are always fascinating to me. I am currently writing a Ghost story Novella. I hope that my ending however will turn out to be much better!

    Great post Ashly!

    • Hi Lizzie, Thank you so much. And I can’t wait to read your ghost story novella, especialy if there’s a happy ending. Cheers, Ashley

  6. I love ghost stories. Even wrote two. I must see this movie again. Thanks for the reminder.

    • Hi Marilyn, Hope the movie touches your heart again like it did mine. Cheers, Ashley

  7. Hi Ashley,
The Ghost and Mrs. Muir is such a lovely film. You’re so right. It’s romantic and so very poignant. Another one in this vein is called Portrait of Jennie with Joseph Cotten and Jennifer Jones. Only he’s not the ghost, she is. Very, very touching. Pull out a box of Kleenex. It’s been years upon years since I’ve seen it and it makes me ache just to think about it.

    • Hi Donna, Another wonderful choice! It’s been years since I saw “Portrait of Jennie”–will have to get a copy and watch it again. Cheers, Ashley

  8. So few people have heard of The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, and yet it’s a favorite of mine as well. George Sanders is brilliant as the children’s book author, and the chemistry between Gene Tierney and Rex Harrison is beautiful. I would recommend this one as well! Thanks!

    • You’re very welcome, Julie. Cheers, Ashley
