Book Recommendation: Romance – J. D. Robb

Fiction or Nonfiction:  Fiction

Type:  Futuristic suspense with strong, romantic elements

Author:  J. D. Robb (Nora Roberts)

Title:  “Naked in Death”

Why:  “Naked in Death” is the best book to start this famous “In Death” series. I’ve found 43 books in the series. The futuristic details are excellent.

Recommended for Book Clubs:  Absolutely!

  1. I absolutely love the “In Death” series. Always awaiting the next one. And that Rourke… What a man! 🙂

    • Hi Rhonda,

      Yeah, Rourke’s … well, yeah! * blushing* 🙂

Who do you like better, Rourke or Barrons from Karen Marie Moning’s Fever series?

By the way, I included this recommendation, because lately, I’ve met a lot of readers who were unfamiliar with J. D. Robb and her “In Death” series.

      Cheers, Ashley

  2. Hi Ashley,

Yup, I love this series. I’ve read all of them, I think. I usually wait til 2 or 3 are in hardback and then read them all at once because one just leaves me wanting more of Eve, Roarke and the gang.

    • Hi Mary, You’re way ahead of me on the series. But it is addicting, in a great way. Cheers, Ashley

  3. I haven’t read the Fever series. Guess that’s one I’ll have to check out. It may already be on my list. Being without internet the last 3 or 4 weeks has put me behind in a lot of things. Glad I’m back online.

My mom even loves the In Death series and she’s more of a traditional kind of reader. I haven’t met anyone who doesn’t like it once they’ve tried it. Great characters.

Hope you have a great weekend, Ashley!

    • Thank you, Rhonda. Have a great weekend, too!

If you haven’t read Karen Marie Moning’s “Fever” series, I suggest starting first with her earlier “Highlander” series. This series sets the mythology and many of the characters, who return in the “Fever” series. Both series are great, and every single book has a new and delicious hero to enjoy.

Your mom read the “In Death” series? Wow. I haven’t been able to convince my mother to read them. She’s a huge fan of Charles Todd.

Sorry to hear about your computer issues. Can’t imaging being wthout a computer for even a week, let alone 3-4 weeks. Very glad you’re back on-line. We missed you.

      Cheers, Ashley

  4. Like Mary, I’ve read every book in the series. Love Rourke and Eve. It’s strange, I don’t really like Nora Roberts that much but like this series of hers.

Jericho Barrons is a heart melt with his good looks, mystery, and protectiveness. Unfortunately I liked the first and second in the series, but the third diappointed me greatly and I haven’t picked up another book of hers since.

    • Hi Donna, You’re way ahead of me in the “In Death” series. I’m treating J.D. Robb’s books like fine coconut gelato, savoring. As for Jericho Barrons, your right. He’s a total “heart melt”. I heard Karen Marie Moning’s writing more books for her “Fever” series. Since I thoroughly enjoyed that last “Fever” book best, I’d encourage giving the series a second chance. Also, her “Highlander” series is wonderful fun, too. Adam Black is a blast. Cheers.
