Easy Recipe:  Quick Eggnog

Step 1   Melt a half-gallon of French vanilla ice cream in the refrigerator.

Step 2   Mix in half a pint of bourbon, stir, and chill in the freezer for 45 minutes to an hour. Pour into a punch bowl and sprinkle with nutmeg.

Enjoy.

    • You’re very welcome, Madeline. You can play with the quantity of bourbon to suit your own tastes. And, replacing the bourbon with other liqueurs such as Grand Marnier also works. Cheers, Ashley

    • Hi Vickie, It’s a good base recipe to play with. Try replacing the bourbon with different flavored liqueurs. I think garnishing with candied fruits might also work. Cheers, Ashley

  6. How long did it take the ice cream to get melty in the fridge? A couple of hours or so? Just thinking ahead…thanks, they both sound great!

    • Hi Christine, I put the ice cream in the fridge the day before. To speed things up, 30 seconds in the microwave and then a blender run might do the trick. Cheers, Ashley

    • Hi Gloria, Good point! Don’t want any drinking and driving. The recipe works very well if you’re sharing it with neighbors, who can walk home. Or, the alcoholic content can be adjusted down. Cheers, Ashley
