Favorite Tip #19: Binary or Probability

Favorite Tip #19:

Replace binary thinking (all or nothing, ones and zeros) with probability thinking (incremental, percents).

For example: I didn’t fail to stick to my schedule today. Instead, I achieved forty-five percent of it. Tomorrow, I’m going for one hundred percent–cold or no cold.

  1. I love the idea of thinking binary. what a cool way to ‘explain’ my all or nothing thinking.

    • Hi Louise, I can’t take credit for it. “Binary” is standard techie speak. Cheers, Ashley
