Extra Picoblog: I Got Tagged

Okay, I got tagged by wonderful fellow blogger, Jolyse Barnett ( ).

So here goes …

1.) What is the one book you couldn’t live without?

Only one? Try dozens. Weel … if I have to pick one, then it would be the King James version of the bible.

2.) What can you see out your window at the moment?

Ski boats racing by on the lake.

3.) What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?

Sea urchin sushi

4.) What fictional character would you most like to marry?

First choice = Roarke of J. D. Robb’s “In Death” series. Close second = Jamie Fraser of Diana Gabaldon’s “Outlander” series.

5.) If ever a fictional villain was going to win, who would you want it to be?

Anakin Skywalker (Darth Vader) should have gotten his lifelong romance with Padmé Amidala.

6.) How many types of cheese can you name off the top of your head?

Cheddar, parmesan, brie, manchego, swiss, camembert,  Roquefort, Maytag blue, Asiago, Havarti, ricotta, mozzarella, romano, Monterey jack, pepper jack, Gruyère, provolone

7.) If you didn’t want to be a writer, what would you be?

Sometimes wish I’d been an astronaut.

8.) Can you play a musical instrument?

Used to play piano, flute, piccolo, and guitar. Don’t really play any now.

9.) Do you own a Kindle or any sort of e-reader?

Old black-and-white Kindle. It’s perfect for book-club books I usually only want to read once.

10.) If so, how many books do you have on it?

15 so far

11.) You just got published. In a glowing review, someone calls you the next (insert name of famous author). Which author has to watch their back now you’re on the scene?

J. D. Robb/Nora Roberts, of course. She’s my favorite.

Since Jolyse already tagged some of the ladies I would have selected, I won’t tag (torture) anyone further.

Hey, Jolyse, how’d I do on this? 🙂

Cheers, y’all!

  1. Very nice interview and it was nice getting to know you better, Ashley.

    • Thank you so much, Patti. Don’t tell Jolyse, but it was actually kind of fun. Cheers, Ashley

  2. Thanks for playing along, Ashley. You’re a good sport. You’re more pithy than me, too. LOL 🙂 I believe you would make an excellent astronaut.

Now, tell me about that sea urchin sushi… Salty??

    • Thank you so much, Jolyse. As for the sea urchin … It was in a sauce. So, I’m not sure what the real taste was. The texture, the main weird feature, was gooey. I love sushi, but sea urchin–not so much. 🙂 Cheers, Ashley

      • I held a live sea urchin when our family visited a children’s museum in Bermuda. It was gooey alive, too! Ewww.

      • Wow, gooey alive, too, Jolyse? I suspect sea urchins make better pool pets than food. Cheers, Ashley

  3. good to know you better

    • Thank you very much, Louise. Cheers, Ashley

  4. This is great Ashley! If you ever want to read a great non-fiction book about astronauts, try Packing for Mars by Mary Roach. Interesting and funny!

    • Definitely have to check that book out, Casey. Thank you for the recommend. Cheers, Ashley

  5. I loved this Ashley! It was great getting to know you a little better. 🙂
