What are you reading this week?  5-17-2012

(Please share book titles, authors, and genres. Please keep comments kind and generous.)

In fiction?

In nonfiction?

My two cents:

In fiction?  I’m about halfway through “About That Night”, the latest contemporary romance by Julie James.

In nonfiction?  Michio Kaku’s “Physics of the Future” is worth a second read, and I’m doing just that.

  1. Yesterday I finished – When He was Wicked by Julia Quinn – awesome and steamy (for her!).

For non-fiction I just finished -In the Garden of Beasts by Erik Larson. Riveting and scary.

    • Hi Casey, Julia Quinn’s book sounds really interesting. I may have to check it out. Thank you. Cheers, Ashley

  2. I’m not reading any NF this week. I’ve read 4 novels so far. Sunday I read, On Demon Wings, the 5th book in the Experiment in Terror series by Karina Halle. I LOVE this series. Read ODW in one sitting. If you like paranormal romance this is awesome IMHO. I also read Kristine Cayne’s Deadly Addiction — a romantic suspense. Also very good with Iroquois details and traditions weaved seamlessly throughout it. The 3rd book I read was Cate Dean’s Rest For the Wicked. It’s the first book in the Claire Wiche Chronicles and is good as well but different than either of the other two. The 4th book I read, I liked for the most part but it had a lot of mistakes and bad dialogue, so I’m not naming it. About to start one titled, Nightmares but can’t remember who it’s by at this time. And yes… I read fast. 🙂

    • You sure do, Rhonda! 🙂 Four novels read in less than a week. Wow! I’m lucky to get 1-2 fiction stories read. As for nonfiction, these books can take me weeks. Thank you for sharing the stories you read. I’m hoping this new picoblog feature will be like a mini-book club. Cheers, Ashley

  3. I’m just about to start Heart of Mine by award winning author Michelle beattie. this is one of the bandit creek books and if it’s as good as her others, I’ll be a happy camper.

    • Michelle Beattie is a new author name for me, Louise. I’ll have to check out her stories. Thank you. Cheers, Ashley

  4. Fiction/print book: True Vision, by Joyce Lamb (romantic suspense w/paranormal element)

Non-fiction: The Gift of Fear by Gavin deBecker – great info for life in general, AND for writing!

    • Both books are new to me, Jennette. Thank you so much for sharing. And I’m off to Amazon, again. 🙂 Cheers, Ashley

  5. Reading my own non-fiction Web Wisdom: 67 Stories of Godly Thoughts and Inspiration from the Inbox. Trying to eliminate mistakes made in formatting before I send it to Amazon for them to sell.

    • Be sure to let us know, David, when “Web Wisdom: 67 Stories of Godly Thoughts and Inspiration” is available on Amazon. Cheers, Ashley

      • I’ll try not to keep it a secret, Ashley.

      • Too cute, David. 🙂 Cheers, Ashley

  6. Coming in late to this. I’m finishing up contest judging which pretty much covers the fiction. In non-fiction I’m reading Kristen Lamb’s We Are Not Alone, and groaning at everything else I need to be doing!

    • Hi Mona, Kristen’s book is a really good one. It has a bunch of suggestions, and the only way to tackle them all is by adding a little at a time. Cheers, Ashley
