Question of the Week #31: Future Technology

Question of the Week #31:

What is superconductivity, and how will it impact our lives?

My two cents (but please share yours):

Hint: One potential application could be used for maglev trains. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superconductivity )

  1. Does it have something to do with mass transit, such as lightning fast train systems?

    • Hi Jolyse, Pretty close. 🙂 Superconductivity is when the electrical resistance is zero. Maglev–in the hint–is short for magnetic levitation. Some maglev systems, not all, are monorails. Cheers, Ashley

  2. Is superconductivity what happens when an orchestra leader moves his baton real fast?
