Factoid #30: Abused and Misunderstood Food

Factoid #30:

Take 1 lb of ground beef and add 1/2 c chopped onion, 1 c oats, 1 t coriander powder, 1 t nutmeg, 1 t salt, 1 t black pepper, and 1 c of beef stock. Mix and fry until the beef is thoroughly cooked and the stock has been fully absorbed. This is a quick and easy version of haggis. Ground liver (1/2 c) is optional. Some recipes include it. Some don’t.

My two cents (but please share yours):

I love haggis, especially as a stuffing for fried wonton dumplings. Haggis is one of the most abused and misunderstood dishes.
