Factoid #38: Dollar Sign

Factoid #38: Dollar Sign

The origin of the  dollar sign is still debated. Some say that if the symbol has two vertical lines, then it is derived from merging the initials US (United States). Others claim the symbol should only have one line and is derived from merging the initials SP (Spanish Peso). Either way, this symbol should be treated with respect. It represents the value of an individual’s hard work and creativity.
