Favorite Tip #56: Whole-Wheat Pasta

For more flavorful whole-wheat pasta dishes, make extra sauce ahead of time and use this extra as the liquid for boiling the pasta. You can also use wine, fruit juices, and vegetable juices as pasta water, too. Enjoy.

    • You’re so welcome, Rhonda. You can add a lot of nutrients to pasta this way. For example, you could use heavily pureed spinach as the pasta liquid or low-sodium V-8 juice, too. Cheers, Ashley

      • Add in some herbs and spices to intensify the flavor, too, Rhonda. Curry powder or tumeric or ginger could be quite yummy. Cheers, Ashley

  2. Back when I let myself indulge (sigh, take a second for memories) I cooked my pasta in chicken broth, and generally didn’t drain. Extra yummy
