Question of the Week #21 – 2013: Culture

What is the difference between professionalism and political correctness?

My two cents (but please share yours):

I believe political correctness is censorship, the bane of every writer.

  1. Censorship is a good synonym for political correctness. In light of this, I’d say that professionalism is tact

  2. Political correctness, to me, is the antithesis of professionalism. Those who are not professional enough to express themselves seek to stifle other voices through political correctness.

    • You make an important point, particularly for writers, David. Cheers, Ashley
