Question of the Week #48 – 2013: Culture

What is the goal of negotiation?

My two cents (but please share yours):

The goal is to achieve a win/win solution. Even in a compromise, a win-lose/win-lose solution, both sides must win something, equally.

Surrender on either side is a win/lose scenario. It will be hurtful and temporary and not a solution. Usually, the only thing surrender achieves is revenge.
