Rescue Word of the Week #20 – 2013: Loyalty

The rescue word of the week is loyalty.

Please help save this word from the endangered-word list by adopting it and using it in your thoughts, your speech, your writing, and your deeds.

What does this word mean to you?

My two cents (but please share yours):

Loyalty is a two-way street. Often individuals, organizations, and governments expect family members, friends, employees, and citizens to be loyal, but they forget to be equally faithful in return.

  1. Loyalty is something I feel only with my family really, at this time. Though I’m also loyal in a different way to people I believe are good in their craft, like Susan Wiggs and Joy Fielding and actors like Johnny Depp and James Gandolfini.

    • There are multiple definitions for the word, loyalty, Patti. Yours is one of the most common. Cheers, Ashley

  2. I like your definition, Ashley.

    • Thank you very much, David. Cheers, Ashley
