Question of the Week #56 – 2013: Culture

What is your favorite movie for getting in the Christmas spirit this year?

My two cents (but please share yours):

The musical “Scrooge” (1970) with Albert Finney always seems to do the trick. “The Nutcracker” (1977) with Mikhail Baryshnikov and Gelsey Kirkland runs a close second. Hmm. Maybe it’s the music.

  1. Definitely A Christmas Story…I make a point to watch it every year because it’s so funny! 🙂

  2. Muppet Christmas Carol still makes me laugh. Watched it last evening and enjoyed it very much. Dog didn’t appreciate my laughing so much as she was trying to nap though.

    • Another great movie, Kay. Too bad your furry friend didn’t watch it with you. Cheers, Ashley

  3. The Polar Express – LOVE IT!

    • Another wonderful movie, Patti. Cheers, Ashley

  4. As far as movies, I like the classics, so either It’s a Wonderful Life or Miracle on 34th Street for me.

    • “Miracle on 34th Street” is really great for making the transition between Thanksgiving and Christmas, Tanya. Cheers, Ashley

  5. And I always thought it was The Christmas Carol.

    • You’re right, Elizabeth. The original book and many of the movie versions are titled “A Christmas Carol.” This particular musical version I mentioned was given a different title for some reason. Cheers, Ashley

  6. Don’t really have one, but I suppose it would be It’s a Wonderful Life. Another good one starred Randy Travis. I can’t remember what it was called.

    • “It’s a Wonderful Life” is another great classic, David, a must-see during the Christmas season. Keep warm and safe during the winter storm. Cheers, Ashley
