Rescue Word of the Week #31 – 2013: Contentment

The rescue word of the week is contentment.

Please help save this word from the endangered-word list by adopting it and using it in your thoughts, your speech, your writing, and your deeds.

What does this word mean to you?

My two cents (but please share yours):

Contentment means more than just serenity. It also includes an acceptance of what is, making peace with reality. It is a wonderful destination, and I hope you will all reach this goal in 2014.

    • Happy New Year, Patti! 🙂 Cheers, Ashley

  2. I agree with your definition, Ashley, and I think the opposite of contentment is anxiety. If we can’t accept things as they are, we’re going to be anxious and up tight about them, which is not a happy way to live.

    • Thank you so much, David. Happy New Year! Cheers, Ashley
