Favorite Tip #87: Tamarind Substitute

Favorite Tip #87: Tamarind Substitute

Recently, I’ve come across several recipes calling for tamarind. Fortunately, there’s a substitute for this rather exotic and not readily available ingredient. Just mix equal parts of lime juice and brown sugar. Then stir in and taste. Sometimes, I’ve had to double the quantity to truly match the tamarind called for in a recipe.
