Question of the Week – 2014 – Post #54

What are the two types of presidential executive orders?

My two cents, but please share yours:

1.  Pure executive orders – These legal orders carry out existing law as written and comply with the U.S. Constitution.

2.  Legislative executive orders – These illegal orders create new law and/or alter existing law–even if only a picometer’s worth–and, therefore, violate the U.S. Constitution, which gives all legislative power to the Legislative Branch (Congress) and none to the Executive and Judicial Branches.
