Superfood of the Week – Pomegranate
What is your favorite recipe that uses this food?
My two cents, but please share yours:
The hard part is separating pomegranate seeds from their peel and pulp. Once done, these juicy seeds are wonderful tossed into salads or sprinkled over raspberry sherbet. I like to eat an entire bowl of seeds, topped with a scoop of chocolate ice cream. Enjoy.
The trick to cleaning a pomegranate is to have a Daughter In Law who is an expert, and let her teach you! I’m much better at it now. I’m experimenting with freezing the seeds since I saw a package of them in the ‘fruit’ section of the freezer at the grocery. I like them plain, and on salads.

I’ve heard of pomegranates, but I never met one.

They’re currently in season, David. The key is to separate the seeds from the peel and pulp. Only eat the seeds. Give a pomegranate a try, and hopefully you’ll enjoy it and have a new fruit in your repertoire. Cheers, Ashley

I love them and am fortunate enough to have a bush in my backyard. The fruit looks like Christmas balls, just right for the season.
