Picoblog Question – 2015 – Post #7

How real are strictly online friendships?

My two cents, but please share yours:

Very real. Online friendships are the 21st century versions of pen pals. A Facebook “poke” buddy of mine recently passed away. Although I never met or spoke to her, we did share FB likes often, and we made it to well over 1000 shared “pokes.” I miss her and will think of her.

  1. I think friendships are as real and genuine as the people behind them and are not concerned with how you meet, but the sharing and support offered.

  2. I agree that they are VERY real. I have many friends I keep in touch with through Facebook that I care deeply about and consider to be real friends, and I’ve met very few of them.

    • Thank you very much, David. Cheers, Ashley

  3. I agree, Ashley. I treasure some of my online friendships.

    • Thank you, Gerri. Love the word treasure. Cheers, Ashley
