Picoblog Question – 2015 – Post #17
Is life a zero-sum game?
My two cents, but please share yours:
Absolutely not. Happiness today does not imply unhappiness tomorrow. And more wealth for one person does not mean less wealth for another. The idea of the zero-sum game came from the scarcity society with a view that resources are limited. Thanks to technology, we are moving rapidly into the abundance society with unlimited resources.
Sorry for anyone who thinks life has to balance out, good with bad. Sometimes the magic works, and sometimes it doesn’t. Do your best, enjoy the good times and live through the bad.

I think…and remember this is ONLY my opinion based on my experiences…life is as good as we let it be. Yes there are times that suck big time. There are always people better off than we are BUT there are also ALWAYS people worse off.
We can go through life expecting the worst or the best.

I agree, Mona. We should always expect the best as it plays into self-fulfilling prophecy. The good news is that technology advances help going forward, moving us from the scarcity society to the abundance society, probably in our lifetime. Cheers, Ashley
