Book Corner – 2015 – Post #4

What are you reading during this stormy month of May?

My two cents, but please share yours:

I’ve just started Code to Zero by Ken Follett for my neighborhood book club.

  1. At the moment, an old Matt Helm spy thriller.

    • Matt Helm is always a great choice, David. Cheers, Ashley

  2. Right now, I’m reading The Book of Ivy by Amy Engel. So far, it’s awesome.

    • I checked out this book on Amazon, and it has a compelling synopsis, CJ. Hope it continues for you to be as good as its beginning. Cheers, Ashley

  3. The Southern Appalachian Assessment.
It is a 20 year old report on the mountain region by the feds and the states involved: SC, NC, TN, VA, GA. Five volumes altogether: summary, atmospheric, social/cultural/econimic, terrestrial, and aquatic.

I’m just about finished and then it will all go to the library resale. The information is surely all avialable online.

    • Hi Aunt Mary, Bet you found some useful tips in that enormous set. Cheers, Ashley

      • No, no tips. But much information I was already aware of having worked with NCNPS and having lived in the area. Many words I did not know – having to do with kinds of forest flora and terrain.

Generally it was a depressing read.

      • Hope your next book is a much more entertaining read, Aunt Mary. After reading nutrition books, I always need fluffy romances to undo depression. Cheers, Ashley
