Foodie Corner – 2015 – Post #9 – Mayonnaise Revisited

My motto used to be “If it didn’t get done in the microwave, it didn’t get done.” I’ve since learned to use my electric oven and its four-burner cooktop. But …

Foodie Corner – 2015 – Post #9 – Mayonnaise Revisited

What cool dips can you make with mayonnaise?

My two cents, but please share yours:

I’m particularly fond of assorted aiolis and often mix regular mayonnaise with Sriracha sauce to make an Asian spicy mayonnaise. For the aiolis, just add 1/4t garlic powder to 2T mayonnaise. You can use this as it is or add a splash of lemon juice, lime juice, or orange juice, or a combination of these. Play with the proportions to find the right blends and make the recipes your own. My next three experiments will be mixing mayonnaise with tomato juice, with Bloody Mary mix, and with barbecue sauce. We’ll see if they work. Or not.
