Picoblog Question – 2015 – Post #55

What is the vertical scale for the 2D political model?

My two cents, but please share yours:

The vertical scale for the 2D political model is not included in the 1D political model. I hope the following answers some questions I’ve received recently.

High-Freedom Extremists (Anarchists)

|

Libertarians (mainstream like Liberals and Conservatives)

|

Centrists (mainstream like Liberals and Conservatives)

|

Totalitarians (mainstream like Liberals and Conservatives, includes Progressives and Socialists)

|

Low-Freedom Extremists (Enslavers)

High-Freedom Extremists (Anarchists):

  • Individual owns and controls their life
  • Individual owns and controls the fruits of their labors (= property = necessities + luxuries)
  • Does not favor US Constitution, believing it gives government too much control over individual

Libertarians (Higher-Freedom Centrists) and Centrists:

  • Individual owns and controls their life
  • Individual owns and controls the fruits of their labors
  • Favors US Constitution, which does allow for some governmental laws, regulations, and taxes

Totalitarians (Lower-Freedom Centrists):

  • Individual owns their life
  • Government controls their life (laws, regulations, taxes)
  • Government owns (buys and sells) and controls the fruits of the individual’s labors
  • Does not favor US Constitution, believing it gives government too little control over individual

Low-Freedom Extremists (Enslavers):

  • Government owns (buys and sells) and controls (laws, regulations, taxes) the individual’s life
  • Government owns and controls the fruits of the individual’s labors
  • Does not favor US Constitution, believing it gives government too little control over individual
