Picoblog Question – 2016 – Post #14

What is the “job engine” for the US economy?

My two cents, but please share yours:

Small businesses use their after-tax profits to create approximately two-thirds of the jobs in this country. The small business sector is the “job engine.”

The two biggest barriers to success for small businesses are corporate taxes (highest in the world) and costs due to thousands of government regulations.

  1. And yet tax breaks and incentives are given to big corporations who use their lobbying powers to create regulations to destroy their smaller competition before taking their jobs over seas. Makes me sick to think about it.

    • The pendulum always swings back, sooner or later, Linda. 🙂 I suspect tax breaks for small businesses are coming, either in the next administration or the one after that. Cheers, Ashley

  2. You’ve hit the nail on the head, Ashley.

    • Thank you so much, David. Cheers, Ashley

  3. War.

    • Unfortunately, that is sometimes the case, D. Wallace. Cheers, Ashley

      • I think I was in a sour mood when I wrote that! I certainly think there are many positive drivers too 🙂 Thanks for your patience!

      • Always fun, D. Wallace. 🙂 Cheers, Ashley
