Picoblog Question – 2016 – Post #24

What little ritual are you doing to celebrate the arrival of spring?

My two cents, but please share yours:

This year, I’m playing with salad dressing and iced tea recipes. For the salad dressings, begin with a base of 2t vinegar plus 3t olive oil. For the iced teas, begin with a pitcher of cold water, add a handful of your desired herbs, and cold steep in the refrigerator overnight. Then add juices, herbs, and spices per your imagination and taste buds. Make each recipe your own, and enjoy the warmer temperatures and pretty flowers.

  1. Gardening. Every year, planting those seeds is a sure sign of spring 🙂 I love it.

  2. Never thought about a ritual to celebrate a season change.

    • It’s just for a bit of fun, David. Enjoy. Cheers, Ashley

  3. I pull weeds from the front yard. Tedious, but it’s nice to feel the sun and warmth on my face. My dad’s recipe for salad dressing is: 2 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper, garlic powder (all to taste) and about 1/2 tsp horseradish. I make this all the time and it’s wonderful.

    • Thank you very much for the recipe, Linda. I’ve never added horseradish to salad dressing but will definitely have to give it a try. Cheers, Ashley
