“Know thy self, know thy enemy. A thousand battles, a thousand victories.” Sun Tzu (6th c. BC)

My two cents, but please share yours:

This is certainly still true today. Sun Tzu had several similar quotes, but I prefer this one as it begins with understanding one’s own strengths and weaknesses.

  1. My mom’s favorite: Love many , trust few, and always paddle your own canoe.Took me through many stages in life.

  2. I like the Sun Tzu quote too. The “knowing” seems critical and I wish there was more of that today. So much aggression is based on ignorance of one’s own motives and ignorance of the enemy’s position. “Knowing” forms a solid foundation on which to build solutions and has the potential to prevent war. 🙂
