Picoblog Question – 2016 – Post #71

What is your favorite holiday nut mixture?

My two cents, but please share yours:

Take 2T of butter and melt it in a skillet. Add 1/2c brown sugar, 2-3t of your spices of choice, 1/2t of salt, and 1c of nuts (I prefer pecans, but any work well). Stir until the nuts are fully coated, and spread them out in a single layer on a nonstick backing sheet. Bake at 300 degrees F for about 30 minutes. Cool and serve.

Play with the spice blends. Try curry or Cajun or Tex-Mex. Try adding finely chopped, cooked bacon just after the nuts come out of the oven. Play with the amounts. Make this recipe your own. Enjoy.
