Second Quarter Debt Check – 2017

Second Quarter Debt Check – 2017

For 2Q17, what is the current national debt, GDP, and population of the U.S.A.?

My two cents (but please share yours):

National debt =  was $19.95 trillion (1/3/17) and is now $19.86 trillion

GDP = was $18.75 trillion (1/3/17) and is now $18.95 trillion

U.S. population = was 325.32 million (1/3/17) and is now 324.79 million

  1. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens over the next four years with Republican rule. I’m also interested in its relationship to poverty and unemployment.

    • You can track that information, D. Wallace. Just use the same link at the bottom of this picoblog post and scan the right side. You’ll find all sorts of interesting statistics being constantly updated. 🙂 Cheers, Ashley

  2. First time I remember that the debt actually went down – even if it is infinitesimal. Scary that the debt exceeds the GNP, though. Thanks, Obama.

    • What is puzzling, David, is that the U.S. population also went down. 🙂 Cheers, Ashley
