Book Corner – 2018 – Post #1

What are you currently reading?

My two cents, but please share yours:

For fiction, I’m starting Never Let You Go by Chevy Stevens for my neighborhood book club. Has anyone read this story? Did you enjoy it, and why?

For nonfiction, I’m starting The Emotional Craft of Fiction by Donald Maass. My writing critique partner and I plan to compare notes later this spring. Has anyone read this writing craft book? Did you find it helpful, and why?

  1. “Bourgeois Equality” by Deirdre McCloskey, volume three of her immense trilogy about the Great Enrichment of our world during the last 300 years. I’ll be dealing with this book at minimum a year. Volumes one and two each took at least that, and deserve re-reading. Not likely I’ll live long enough to absorb all the meat from them. Must keep my dictionary nearby…. probably not really educated enough to read these books.

    • Her books sound enormously challenging, Aunt Mary. Please share here any key insights you discover. Cheers, Ashley

  2. Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novel “Nothing to Lose” on my Nook and Louis L’Amour’s “A Man Called Noon” in paperback.

    • It’s sounds as if you’re having a marvelous time, David! Cheers, Ashley
