“Years ago, I picked up figure skating. How hard could spins and jumps be, I thought? It’s just applied Newtonian physics. After repeatedly falling on my rear end, I realized it was harder than I thought. But it had an upside. That is how I met my wife, who was ice dancing at the Rockefeller Center ice rink.”

– Michio Kaku

  1. I remember the skating club, the tight skates, and the lessons. Never was any good, but it was great for balance. Tried roller-blades in my 60s. just going round and round the rink. 🙂 Good times.

Remember the skating shows? OMGoodness, some of those kids could really skate!

If I’m going to watch a sport, I think ice hockey is good fast fun. Not on TV though, the puck is too small to follow.

My son played a bit, but then they closed our local ice rink, so he tried roller-hockey. Now they’ve closed the roller rink. 😦

    • Good times indeed, Aunt Mary! They will cycle back around eventually. Cheers, Ashley

  2. I used to love skating. This is a testament to why we should try new things. 🙂

    • Or rediscover old favorites, D. Wallace. 🙂 Cheers, Ashley
