Picoblog Question – 2020 – Post #23

What is your favorite way to celebrate Independence Day?

My two cents, but please share yours:

From our living-room window, we can see roughly a dozen different evening fireworks displays. Most are miles away, tiny, and silent. A few are nearby, huge, and noisy. I love to sit on the sofa for hours, watching the colors and shapes explode and shimmer and disappear.

How about you?

  1. Most years, I stand at the back door watching… with my garden hose at the ready. The neighbors behind me love to set off fireworks.

We live in the woods. These neighbors seem unaware of the state of drought we frequently have by July 4th or New Year’s.

    • Hi Aunt Mary, So glad you have the hose ready! We’ve had a few neighbors like that. Fortunately, their kids grew up, and the antics faded away. The displays we watch now are run by various nearby towns with fire departments at the ready. 🙂 Cheers, Ashley

      • Ha! It has rained, heavily. 🙂 No hose for me this evening, everything is already soaked through. It’ll probably sound like a war zone though, bang boom crash. Hope it doesn’t terrify Blackie the cat too badly.

      • Hope Blackie the cat survived the “bang boom crash,” Aunt Mary! 🙂 Cheers, Ashley
