Picoblog Question – 2020 – Post #24

What are you doing to keep cool this summer (or keep warm, if you are in the middle of winter)?

My two cents, but please share yours:

Besides our killer Texas air conditioning, I’ve been indulging in ice cream, lots and lots of ice cream. My favorite flavor is dark chocolate.

How about you?

  1. Since I don’t have air-con, I keep the house open until about 10 AM and then close it tight: doors, window, blinds. Open it again when the air outside is noticeably cooler (late afternoon or early evening).

So far we’re having afternoon thunderstorms and they are helping a lot which surprises me. I’m used to such storms turning everything into hot soup. 😉

    • Hi Aunt Mary, Oh my! I do not know how you manage without AC! I’m glad the thunderstorms are helping. Stay cool! 🙂 Cheers, Ashley

      • When I was growing up in SC hardly anybody had air-con and it was much hotter there than here. It was “stinkin’ hot”. 😉 But I think being old and skinny has a lot to do with my being comfortable. Just notice how warm old-folks homes are kept. I just freeze in the winter.

My indoor temps will top out around 80F, maybe a tad more – not bad.

      • Amazing, Aunt Mary! 74F is my upper limit during the day. At night, I can’t sleep if it’s over 70F–always have been this way. Enjoy summer! 🙂 Cheers, Ashley
