Book Corner – 2021 – Post #3
What are you currently reading, and are you enjoying your books?
My two cents, but please share yours:
For fiction, I’m part way into The Seventh Victim (Texas Rangers Book 1) by Mary Burton. This book is more serial murder mystery but has some romance. So far, I’m enjoying this story.
For nonfiction, I’m starting to study Scottish Gaelic in Twelve Weeks by Roibeard O Maolalaigh with Iain MacAonghus. Learning this language is part of my preparation for writing my next series, a set of Scottish time-travel romances.
At present I’m reading “Nicholas Nickleby” by Dickens. I’ve never read it, but found it online and figured now was as good a time as any. 😉

Actually, I did enjoy it. A good little love story, with typical Dickens side plots and characters all over the place.
That said, I’m *awfully* glad my mom was not like the mom in the book, yikes, crazy making! She wasn’t an evil or bad person, but she sure had very few redeeming features. 😉 OMGoodness, I don’t think I could have remained polite, I’d have moved across the ocean.

That mother in the book sounds like quiet a character, Aunt Mary! I’m glad Nana was so much better. I still remember quite a few things Nana taught me, such as touching precious objects and paying attention to (even savoring) their textures. 🙂 Cheers, Ashley
