Book Corner – 2021 – Post #9

What are you currently reading, and are you enjoying your books?

My two cents, but please share yours:

For fiction, I’m partway into The Giver Of Stars by Jojo Moyes, this month’s selection for my neighborhood book club. The story started off a bit slowly, but seems to be picking up the pace.

For nonfiction, I’m starting What really happened in Wuhan by Sharri Markson. So far, this book has introduced me to some very interesting people.

  1. I’ve been reading books online – old novels that are not in my local library and probably not in the county system either. Obsolete books. But they are friendly and fun, not so violent or vulgar as many of the more modern books I’ve tried.

Big site of books online – out of copyright in Canada:

I’m working on the ones by William J Locke – a very prolific writer 100 years ago. 🙂

    • What a great way to read books, Aunt Mary! Those “obsolete” books need to be brought back into circulation.. So many wonderful books should never be lost. 🙂 Cheers, Ashley

  2. Currently I am reading: (Fiction) “Watchers” by Dean Koontz and (Non-Fiction) “At Your Best” by Carey Nieuwhof

    • Both books are new to me, Randy. Are you enjoying them? Cheers, Ashley

      • Yes. “Watchers is one of Dean Koontz’ earlier novels from 1987. I had only seen the movie but the book is a million times better.

“At Your best” came out a couple weeks ago and focuses on time management and learning to focus your time when you’re at your peak hours.

      • Hi again Randy, You’re so right! The books are nearly always better! And love time-management books, both as a techie and now as a writer. 🙂 Cheers, Ashley
