Veterans Day 2021
We’re keeping in our thoughts and prayers all of those who served in our armed forces, sacrificing to preserve our freedom. We bless you and thank you and will take a moment of silence to remember you.

Yes. I’ll be at work but do my best to take a moment (after all, the clock is right on the wall in front of me) to remember my brother and all the various cousins who did not come home from WW2. My brother was the only one of our extended family who made it.
Also I’ll remember the friends of my own age group who were in VietNam and they did come home – but damaged. 😦

There was so much loss from those generations, Aunt Mary. I’ve been thinking about them, too. – Ashley

Here in NZ we also remember our fallen on 11 November – it’s Armistice Day here, but it often passes without much fuss. The ‘official’ remembrance day is 25 April, Anzac Day – marking the moment when Australian and New Zealand forces landed at Gallipoli in 1915. Kind of unique to Australasia, but it’s entrenched in the local sense of identity as nations and not something likely to change any time soon.

Thank you for sharing that, Matthew. Some folks here still call it Armistice Day as well. Cheers, Ashley
