What rapidly growing market deserves every writer’s attention?

My two cents, but please share yours:

The “gray” market, readers of age sixty and up, should receive careful consideration. As we move into an era of mass customization, some of the factors to keep in mind are the following.

• Larger or adjustable print size
• Including dates, locations, and point of view at the start of each scene
• One scene equals one chapter, due to reading fewer pages per sitting (eyestrain)
• Older protagonists with innovative character arcs, including love stories
• Physical size and weight of paperbacks and hardbacks (arthritic hands)
• Topics that encourage seniors to engage in book discussions (fight against loneliness)

Some future-trends experts predict this market will be the fastest growing group over the next twenty years. That makes it well worth renewed focus and targeted marketing going forward.
