Book Corner – 2023 – Post #1
What are you currently reading, and are you enjoying your books?
My two cents, but please share yours:
For fiction, I’m beginning The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah, our neighborhood book club selection for this month.
For nonfiction, I’m well into The Theoretical Minimum by Leonard Susskind and George Hrabovsky. This is the first volume of a set of four books that were designed to provide a physics refresher and update for those who studied this subject long, long, long ago. Enjoy.
I recently bought “The Odyssey” (Alexander Pope’s translation, this book published in 1942) to go with “The Iliad” that I finally read a year or so ago. Lovely edition, great illustrations, easy to read, big enough print.
Enjoying it, much nicer story to read than The Iliad. No, I’m not ready to study ancient Greek to read the original, although I recall your dad wanted to study Latin so he could read Caesar’s Gallic Wars! 🙂

Great illustrations always make a book better, Aunt Mary! And you’re right about Dad and his desire to study Latin. I think he got sidetracked by learning German in order to read German romance authors’ stories. It was just his thorough way of approaching everything, especially his dozens of hobbies. 🙂 Cheers, Ashley
