Foodie Corner – 2019 – Post #5 – Mayonnaise Revisited
What cool dips can you make with mayonnaise?
My two cents, but please share yours:
I’m particularly fond of assorted aiolis and also like to mix regular mayonnaise with Sriracha sauce to make an Asian spicy mayonnaise.
For the aiolis, just add 1/4t garlic powder to 2T mayonnaise. You can use this as it is or add a splash of lemon juice, lime juice, or orange juice, or a combination of these. Play with the proportions to find the right blends and make the recipes your own.
A while back, I ran three experiments mixing mayonnaise with tomato juice, with Bloody Mary mix, and with barbecue sauce. The only one that worked was the barbecue sauce. Thinning this creamy sauce out with a little broth (like low-sodium chicken broth) produced a very yummy salad dressing, too.
Enjoy.
