Question of the Week #17 – 2013: Health
What food group should be at the top of the food pyramid?
My two cents (but please share yours):
I’m guessing fats such as olive oil and canola oil.

sugar and sweeteners should be at the top. Healthy fats are good for you. Then again, canola isn’t the healthiest fat. Try Coconut Oil. Yummmm

Good point about the sweeteners, Mona. I bet coconut oil would be great for veggie sautes. Thank you for the suggestion. Cheers, Ashley

I believe the food pyramid was replaced with MyPlate during the first Obama administration. http://www.choosemyplate.gov/
I don’t think there’s a fats or sweets section any longer, but there is a drinks section. 🙂

Thank you so much for the link, Jolyse. MyPlate is the current chart, but I suspect the Mediterranean Diet folks are going to change that again. Cheers, Ashley
